Sorry, no video today. Here instead is an oddly captivating video of Seb Lester writing BlackLetter calligraphy.

In repect to Justice Scalia's comment today. The fact that this case has come before the Supreme Court is proof that discriminatiuon, or racism, has not ended in America. The fact that people are arguing about this law is proof that we still need this law.
When will the Civil Rights legislation be unnecessary? When our electoral process is guided by fair play for all to the extent that the legislation is way in the back of people's minds. However, does that mean we should repeal the legislation then? No. There will be no need to repeal, or renew, because it is then that we can say that the legislation has done its duty.
Now, since my shoulder hurts (as much as my brain after hearing Scalia's comments) I'm going to bed. Hope for a better day tomorrow.
HEY RACHEL!
Thanks for continuing to cover the "Shell-in-Alaska/no, actually not so much" story - no one else is!
Only change I would have suggested: it could have been called The Best New Thing in The World Today!! yaaay! no drilling in 2013 - I am sooo glad!
:-)
PS - but you should look into The Worst New Thing In The World Today - or at least this part of the world: since NC turned bright RED from the legislature to the gov's mansion, we are really losing ground here (litterally & metaphorically).
The legislature has GUTTED all the (few) protections that were built into the fracking bill - no notice to land owners, no environmentalists allowed on advisory panels, etc., reduced oversight. . . . PLEASE SHAME THEM LIKE YOU HAVE OTHER STATES!
I'll just download the font, thanks. I'd love to do this, but am a lefty. I like my hand the color that it is. :)
