More friday noise....
For those of you who don't know the SST label RM referred to during the AIM conversation, here are a few bands who SST produced back in this period: quite an eclectic variety, though RM made reference to the more punk oriented bands.
There is the bull crap out of all this with these Republicans. The Republicans continuously make life difficult for President Obama even to the point of looking to destroy the American economy just so some scum and deceiving Republicans can pretend to make themselves look good. Enough is enough President Obama don’t give in to such deceit, we need a President that stands up for the American people. These types of people like the Republicans are unworthy even to call themselves Americans, except as traitors to American. Enough of these Republican lies and deception, you Republican hacks need to start doing your jobs for once, instead of making excuses.
* First of all, the GOP hacks Have been doing their jobs. The only thing they keep forgetting is, we are all in this together. And that all must have a voice if this is to be a democarcy. What if all of America freely stood up and voted like real Americans are supposed too ?? Would a real democracy finally exist??
What I have seen of this world and especially with these so-called gun lobbyists this world has got to be amazingly and disgustingly sick. When politicians sit there and allow such a thing that a gun company cannot be held liable for their death weapons. And on top of it the gun companies and politicians make it a free for all on carrying guns on the streets let a lone military style weapons included for sale to anyone. As a species we indeed must be the misfits of the Universe. And to image we have to literally fight tooth and nail just to get any form of proper gun regulation that is just too much. How much sicker can you politicians and weapon manufacturers get.
What's absurd is the idea that a gun manufacturer could be held liable for what somebody else decides to do with their product. That makes no more sense than suing a car manufacturer because somebody decides to drive drunk and kills innocent bystandards.
Well, here if a bartender serves a person a drink and that person has a wreck and hurts or kills someone, they get the bartender and the owner of the bar. It's called liability.
well that depends on if I am employed by a gun maker. Got any other work for me ?? The Chinese are doing that cheaper ?? Well I guess I will be stuck with making guns unless the Saturn plant reopens.
Dear Ded3596991, I now must nickname you: Winnie-The-Poop. Because you sure can stir up a GOP bees nest. ......well done........
Hi Rachel:
Just saw the piece on the gun manufacturer liability. To be fair, Michael Bloomberg led an effort early last decade to bankrupt gun manufacturers by overwhelming them with lawsuits. This group made no effort to hide the facts of this and it was having a serious effect on these companies. Regardless of your views on the gun control subject you cannot justify bankrupting a legitimate business via such tactics. As you know, were we to do so then what's to stop them from using the same tactics against us in the future.
To the people who hate guns as much as Bloomberg, they think absolutely anything is justified if it forwards their goal. No matter how obviously unethical and how blatant an abuse of the system it might be.
None of the proposed gun control bills would have prevented any of those evil mass shootings, and the magazine and rifles bans that ended in 2004 proved without any doubt that these bans are worthless, and they prevented nothing. Even the idea of limiting the size of magazines is ridiculous for several reasons...first the shooter can reload by changing magazines in 2 seconds...and as in most shootings the shooters has more then one weapon with him..As in the Aurora theater shooting,.. The deranged Holmes magazine drum jammed almost as soon as he started to fire the rifle, and he then changed to the shotgun and the handguns...the 100 round drum wasn't even a factor,in all that evil carnage. Also holding gun manufactures liable is another mindless bill...and is just a dirty little trick for backdoor rifle bans....Alcohol has destroyed more lives then can ever be counted..and are the distilleries liable ??..of course not because it's the individuals responsibility, for the misuse of the product, and not the maker. These gun control measures will do nothing in preventing future shootings and will only serve to further infringe on the rights of law abiding citizens so liberal politicians can binge on liberal ideology...pathetic
Dear scared-scared gun needers. I know how you feel.
* I used to suck my thumb for comfort until I found love and she said that looked stupid. I was totally heart-broken when my security-blanket had to be left at home in the third grade. ………..just…..saying…..
@ Pondering-2
perhaps it is not out of fear but rather out of measured consideration...
that certain gun legislation (such as a ban on assault weapons and various magazine capacities) is opportunistic and preys on fear... but in the end does little to address violent death.
For example, the NYS SAFE act (which had to be rushed through due to "emergency" need) will now"protect" NY citizens from use of assault weapons through a ban. Statistics show that .007% of homicides in NY last year were due to long rifle death... (assault firearms fall under this category). This means .007% or less are due to assault firearms.
So... 99.993% of the homicides would not be addressed by an assault firearms ban.
Hey NYS, don't you feel so much better protected by your legislature?
Thank you for continuing to push on the Heat Shield of the NRA and gun control. It gives me great hope that you are willing to stand up to the crazies and focus on making our country face the gun craziness. The legislation that exempts gun manufacturers from lawsuits and the reluctance to ban senseless weapons both need to be attacked, repeatedly. Thank you, thank you.
This song by Anna Halick, I believe it was written to ours young soldiers and to soldiers wifes everywhere. When we send them to war, we send their whole family.

The times, they change slow for the rich and faster for the lessers. But, truth be said, is the last time we had to go to the river to fetch a pail of water? Or take a crap in the out-house? When the second amendment was written, we really actually did hunt for our dinner with a trusty flint lock musket. Hoping if you had kept your powder dry, the family maybe eating well that night. And in your protein lean families eyes, you were the hero for the evening. Now today of course any seven year old kid can buy a ready-made-killed-and-cooked-beef-burger for a paper American buck. Yes a dollar and a dead deer were once the same thing.
* And once, good women did not want to vote!! They found politics distasteful and dishonest. My grandmother was born in 1896. She once told me that politics was invented to keep the boys busy long enough for women to talk them out of doing something stupid again. Good luck with that plan. Now a-days however women just seem to vote and then just let democracy decide.
Bill, your smirking. So, you prefer a hairy chest?
just wanted to say -sent Nancy some money today to help sue Arkansas and gentlemen, any laws that could prevent the death of a child are laws worth passing so stop making excuses.
Why has the media in general and NBC in particular given a pass on Dianne Feinsteins claim that it is legal to hunt humans with guns?

People in Congress have been asked to resign for less.
As for the gun industry having immunity, I can make that same point about nearly every manufacturer on earth who makes something that has the potential to be used in an illegal way by an irresponsible person.
Prescription drugs, cars, baseball bats, knives, plus an entire litany of other products can be used to kill people illegally. So unless you are going to make them all liable, stop the ridiculous claims about gun manufacturers.
I have no interest in owning a hand gun. The NRA and gun manufacturers want me to buy a gun to protect myself from people who should not have guns. Where is the effort from the NRA and gun manufacturers to keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have guns.
