Regarding the media role in beating the drums, we are leaving out the Israeli lobbv and the dual loyalty question.
Andrew Bacevich, a West Point graduate and former student of Paul Wolfowitz writes an excellent open letter to Mr. Wolfowitz in Harper's Magazine today and he lists the tacit benefit to Israel as an element, specifically the 6th element, that greased the way forward to Iraq.
In this letter, Bacevich also asks Wolfowitz to apply a critical and honest self critique in the style of Wolfwitz' own mentor, Albert Wohlstetter, a analysis that will cover the undersecretary of defense's role and the intellectual arguments leading up to this national debacle.
