How about slackjawedhillbillies need a personhood bill. Have slackjawedhillbillies ever been officially recognized by the federal government? No! And you want to know why?

I was hoping you could help me with an important task. In the past week I have heard some ridiculous statements from relatives about Obamacare and proposed gun control legislation. In addition, I have seen a ridiculous meme on Facebook my aunt posted that claimed the Democratic party is racist, started the KKK, fought against civil rights, and that the president is a Nazi. I am well aware of the history of the Democratic Party, Dixiecrats, and the Southern Strategy. I just got to the point that after viewing several memes that my relatives post that are not based in fact or that do not account for current history I needed to provided definitive data. I was wondering if you had any information/Power Point/data that I could share with my relatives that would allow them to make informed decisions. I find that my family is basing their ridiculous statements on trite comments they hear on conservative radio or from Tea Party memes they find on Facebook. I have attempted to share information about the breakdown for what Obamacare will do for citizens and have even sent information from the White House website to my mother. However, I was hoping that you might have some clear information because I know you & your team researches frequently. I might not always agree with what they say but I feel they should at least be educated before making horrible statements. I really appreciate any help that you might provide. Thank you kindly and please keep fighting the good fight. You are an inspiration and a breath of fresh air.

I would have hoped that Rachel would have read Clark Clifford's book as part of the research for DRIFT. Sorry, I have not read DRIFT yet. find the Clark Clifford book here. Clifford implies that Nixon did not conspire against LBJ but conspired with him against Hubert Humpfrey. The audio that you credit BBC with sounds fake only because Richard Russell would never have been so passive.
I would have hoped that you would have read "Drift" before you critique/denegrate it.
Hmmm Pat, Clifford's book was published in 1991. Did he KNOW about Nixon's interference with the Viet Nam peace process? If he did, would he have been willing or even able to release that information back then?
Oh, and Rachel does have a PhD and was a Rhodes Scholar - I'm pretty sure she knows how to research....
Read Drift first and THEN comment....
I in NO way thought that I had critiqued nor denigrated the book DRIFT I am a Maddow fan. The Clifford book I read as serialized in the NEW YORKER magazine when each installment was fresh before the book publication.
My point was supposed to be that the Clifford information went beyond the BBC information and would never have been published except that he wanted, amid a banking scandal, to be remembered for letting the truth out. But, not everybody reads.
